Welcome, dear reader, follower, fan, enthusiast, fellow nerd and random internet-weary digital traveller! You have made it to our new webshop, one of the main projects of Northern Black. From here, we sell and ship all the loot and merchandise that we create, including some unique handcrafted items on occasion. It is recommended that you subscribe here, if you want to be kept in the loop.
This webshop first came about a couple of years ago, during the pandemic days. It was something to pass the time with, where we could launch a few cool Viking t-shirts, sell some historical prints, share Bindrunes and the like. In those two years, things have moved very fast, and we now have near to 100 products. We create our designs with our team in the English North-East (where the Viking age first got underway with the raid of Lindisfarne) and we ship our products out of Sweden, Near Gothenburg, to maintain a higher service and lower shipping-cost (Yes, Brexit has not been helpful to small businesses).
We create our designs based on Ancient history, on Vikings, Iron age designs, runestones, Celtic artefacts and animistic ideas. Our range has expanded from t-shirts, to silver jewellery, art-prints, PDF files, artbooks and much more. Each design is either made by Peter Oakmund, or curated by him and created by one of the brilliant artists we commission. We strive to create at least 1-3 new products per month, and 1 big project per year.
The webshop is but one of our projects. We run our tattoo studio, we are building and maintaining an educational website, we have multiple social media channels and we do also work on our Rewilding projects - a project we hope to grow and let become a major part of what we do.
So that is the introduction to where we are at - a webshop, a tattoo studio and a whole lot of other projects, all run by our team. In our next blog-post, we will be introducing the team itself, our backgrounds and talk a bit about our origin story - how did this band of anti-heroes come together to create Viking tattoos, epic t-shirts and plant a lot of trees? Stay tuned, and do not forget to subscribe for more ;)
