The God of Ink Tshirt!
Named so as it is the logo of our Nordic Tattoo book project, as well as our epic Jorvik Tattoo Moot, the first of it’s kind historical tattoo convention in York, Uk (tickets available on www.TheNordicTattoo.com)The Godmask is designed in the more ancient styles, predating the Viking age, to honour the connection and heritage of artwork that was established long before Europe entered the so-called Viking age.
The mask, designed by Isar Oakmund, is meant to represent a god of art, creativity and creation, be it Bragi, the god of poetry, Thor, who represents artisans, or Odin, who was part of forming the worlds, and most importantly, Ask and Embla, the first two humans to walk Middle-Earth.
A note from Isar Oakmund
When you buy this product, you are helping us build a community in growth - The Viking/European historical tattoo community. When I started tattooing, this was a tiny segment of the tattoo industry, it now boasts more than 150 artists, and is ever expanding and improving.
We are working hard to promote the artists within the genre, ensuring their creative survival and space to grow, and to create accessibility for everyone interested, by creating The Nordic Tattoo book featuring the many artists, as well as building tattoo events and sharing information about the genre. This is hard work, and it is costly work, so all your help is highly appreciated!
We thank you for your support!
Isar Oakmund.
