SILVER THORS HAMMER PENDANT WITH ROCK CARVING
This Thor's hammer is a combination of Viking approx. 800 - 1,100 AD and the Bronze Age 1,800 - 500 BC.
The rock carvings are drawings on rock surfaces from the Bronze Age,
the carvings are found in most of Scandinavia and here in Denmark we have motifs on Bornholm.
They are believed to have been of great importance in religious and social life, used for communication with the gods.
In this historical piece of jewellery, the rock carving is carved into a Thor's hammer - which forges the times together.
Thor's hammer Mjølner is probably the most important Nordic symbol, the saga goes that it was forged by the dwarf Sindri and found throughout the Vikings' territory.
Mjølner paralysed the enemies and always returned to Thor, making him invincible.
It was worn by pagans as proof of their faith in the old gods.
