The Skull of Loss is a hand-sculpted artwork by Isar Oakmund, created in his distinct Norse-inspired style for Northern black. Each piece carries the weight of memory, death, kinship, and grief, expressed through engraved bindrunes and organic form.

Painted and finished by hand in the studio, this sculpture reflects the Viking-age understanding of honour, remembrance, and the cycles of loss - themes that remain universal. Whether placed on an altar or mounted as a wall piece, it brings a sense of depth and presence to any space.

Part of Northern black’s Decorated Skulls collection, the Skull of Loss can stand alone or be paired with others to form a symbolic series.
