The Vikings built very fast wooden ships for their legendary
raids and expeditions. They also built cargo ships, ferries and narrow boats for exploring the area.
A dragon's head, would often adorned the ship's bow. This was supposed to protect the Vikings from evil forces and was an important magical amulet.
