YGGDRASIL BRONZE EARRINGS

In Norse mythology, Yggdrasil (the tree of life) was a huge ash tree. Its
evergreen crown reaches all the way to the sky, and its three roots end in three different worlds. The first is in the underground Hel, where the dragon Nidhug gnaws in it and where Urd's well is located. The second leads past Mimer's well to Jotunheim . The third passes Hvergelmer and leads to Niflheim. 

In Yggdrasil's crown live four deer, Dain, Dvalin, Dunør and Duratro. At the top sits an eagle and on its beak the hawk Vederfølner, who looks out over the world. Ratatosk, a small squirrel darts up and down the trunk bringing new things from the root to the top. Yggdrasil is uprooted and burned during Ragnarok, as a result of the great 
forest fires that raged at the time.
