Yggdrasil is the axis of the Norse cosmos, the great ash tree whose roots reach into the realms of gods, giants and the dead, and whose branches hold the nine worlds together. Rendered in Ringerike style, the design draws from one of the most refined art movements of the Viking Age, its flowing organic lines and naturalistic interlace giving the World Tree the depth and movement it deserves. Woven into the composition is a bindrune based on the Vegvisir, the Icelandic wayfinding stave, a symbol of guidance and navigation through whatever terrain lies ahead.
