HEIDRUN TUMBLER
The Heidrun Tumbler is a collaboration between Northern Black and Tiny Thorin Pottery: a handmade, hand engraved and glazed ceramic tumbler carrying a bindrune designed by Isar Oakmund for joy, happiness and embracing your silly side. Norse runic art on a vessel made for drinking. It was always going to happen eventually.
The name is not an accident. In Norse mythology, Heidrun is the goat who lives on the roof of Valhalla, grazing on the leaves of Yggdrasil and producing an endless supply of mead from her udder for the einherjar, the warriors who feast in Odin's hall. An immortal goat on a roof, producing infinite mead for dead warriors. The Norse were a people of tremendous depth and also tremendous fun, and Heidrun is proof of both.
Each tumbler is handmade by Tiny Thorin Pottery, thrown, engraved and glazed by hand. The bindrune and flourishes are Isar Oakmund's own design, worked into the ceramic surface with the same intention he brings to everything he makes, just this time the intention is to make you smile. A runic composition for joy is not a lesser thing. The Norse were not a people who frowned on a good time, and this tumbler does not either.
Could be used for whisky. Highly recommended for whisky. Equally at home with whatever makes you happiest.
Small batch. Handmade pieces may carry slight variations in glaze and finish between them, which is the nature of the craft and part of what makes each one its own.
