The bindrune Isar designed and painted onto this skull reaches toward two of the oldest blessings in the northern tradition: the sun and the soil. Light and land. The force that drives growth from above and the ground that receives it below. As a pairing of intentions they are ancient, elemental and deeply rooted in the world the Norse people actually lived in, one that turned with the seasons and depended on both.

The roe deer connects to the earth naturally. A creature of woodland and field, it moves through the land quietly and belongs to it entirely. As a vessel for a blessing tied to soil and sun, it needs no justification. It fits.

Isar drew and painted the bindrune directly onto the skull by hand, then mounted the piece onto a plaque, finished and ready to take its place on a wall. It is a complete object. Nothing left to do but find the right space for it.
