HANGING LOVE SKULL IN FRAME

The Skull of Love is a handcrafted resin sculpture designed and sculpted in-house at Northern Black, engraved with bindrunes symbolising love, kinship and the bonds that tie souls together - connections between partners, family and ancestors. For this piece, the skull has been sprayed in a textured gold and mounted in a shadow box surrounded by pink and white florals. The gold and the florals are not decoration. They are the intention made visible: love rendered in warmth, colour and the kind of beauty that does not apologise for itself.

Isar's work has always sat at the intersection of the mythic and the human. The bindrunes on this skull come from the same tradition that informed the Viking Age understanding of love as a force with weight, with history and with the power to bind across generations. Mounted in a frame, surrounded by flowers, it becomes something that earns its place on a wall rather than simply filling one.
