Every Northern Black T-shirt begins as a story, sketched by hand and shaped like thread on the loom of the Norns. Once the design is ready, it’s brought to life through our own printing process — no outsourcing, no mass production, just careful craftsmanship done in-house.
We print in small batches, which means each run is limited and made with attention to detail. The result? A Norse mythology T-shirt that feels personal, not factory-stamped. The cotton is durable, the prints are bold, and every piece is made to be worn hard — whether that’s at a festival, in the gym, or just while running errands.
Of course, you’ll look marvellous while doing the food shop. In fact, don’t be surprised if someone stops you in the fruit aisle to ask what that symbol on your chest means. It’s up to you if you want to tell them. That’s part of the fun: every shirt is a conversation starter.
SYMBOLS, PATTERNS & HERITAGE MOTIFS
Our Nordic T-shirts draw directly from the well of history. Expect knotwork, bind runes, sacred geometry, and godmasks that echo the carvings found on standing stones, longships, and temple woodwork.
Where modern tattoo culture meets old Norse craft, you’ll find our designs. This is not generic “Viking style” — these are stories and symbols that run deep: wolves, serpents, ravens, berserkers, and the Æsir themselves.
SIZE, FIT & FABRIC — UNISEX GUIDE
Northern Black tees are designed for warriors, wanderers, and everyday shield-maidens alike. The majority of our shirts come in a modern unisex fit: straight, clean lines that are comfortable across all builds without feeling boxy. They’re true to size — order your regular size for a standard fit, or size up if you prefer a relaxed, looser look for layering under armour (or a hoodie).
We also offer selected designs in a femme fit. These are cut with a slightly narrower shape, shorter sleeves, and a closer fit to the body — ideal if you prefer a tailored silhouette without losing comfort. CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Wash it at a cool temperature to protect the cotton and preserve the prints.
Turn inside out before washing to keep the design fresh.
Line dry if possible — it’s better for the garment (and the environment) than a tumble dry.
Treat it with care, and your tee will stay sharp longer than your favourite saga.

What makes these T-shirts “tattoo style”?
Each design is drawn by tattooist Isar Oakmund, combining bold linework, heritage motifs, and the kind of imagery you’d expect on skin — not a tourist gift shop tee.
Are the designs original?
Absolutely. Every T-shirt starts as an original artwork, sketched by hand before being prepared for print. You won’t find these pieces anywhere else — no stock graphics, no clipart, and definitely no watered-down “Viking” clichés. Each design is rooted in authentic Norse motifs, with a modern tattooist’s edge.
Which Norse symbols feature in your tees?
We update our designs frequently, so expect to find Norse t-shirts with Freya, Odin, Tyr, Loki, Fenrir, Sleipnir and all the other old gods and their beasties decorating them. We also use bind rune motifs with charming messages and sometimes you might even spot a little berserker moomin if you’re lucky.
What’s the fabric and print quality like?
We use 100% premium cotton chosen for softness and durability. Most designs are screen printed in-house, a method that ensures crisp lines, bold detail, and prints that survive years of wear and washing without cracking or fading. These aren’t disposable fast-fashion T-shirts; they’re built to last like heirlooms in your wardrobe.
How do your sizes fit?
Most of our T-shirts are unisex, cut for a straight fit that suits all builds. Stick with your regular size for a classic fit, or size up if you prefer a looser feel. We also release selected designs in a femme fit, shaped with a slightly shorter length and more tailored cut — ideal if you prefer a closer fit. Will sold-out designs be restocked?
Some designs return regularly, while others are printed in limited runs. If you see a tee you like, it’s worth acting fast — once the Norns cut the thread on a design, it may not return. Keep an eye on the shop updates or sign up to our email list for restock alerts and new release drops. If you really, really love a design that has sold out, send us an email to let us know. If there’s enough love for it, we will get more made.

Are the tees ethically produced?
We believe in honour over shortcuts. Our T-shirts are printed in-house in small batches to avoid waste. We source from suppliers who meet high ethical standards, meaning you’re not just wearing heritage symbols — you’re supporting fair and responsible production too.
Do you make custom designs or sizing?
Right now, we focus on creating our own catalogue of original work. We don’t offer fully custom designs or made-to-order sizing, but our range is always expanding. If there’s demand for more femme cuts or extended sizing, the gods may yet provide.
